St. John – Views of Trunk Bay and the Islands on the horizonĀ

Anytime you visit St. Thomas, taking the ferry over to St. John is a must. You can take take your vehicle over on the barge (car ferry) to explore on your own or you can catch the St. John ferry and catch a taxi. Get you camera ready because you will be able to get some great pictures of the islands. On this trip I got some great sunset picks on the way back to St. Thomas you will want to see.

St. Thomas and St. John are very close. The ferry ride only takes about 20 minutes. A surprise to a lot of visitors is that the British Virgin Islands (BVI) are all right in view.  You will see Tortola, the largest of the BVI, Jost Van Dyke, my favorite, and some other small Islands. If you travel to the BVI you must have your passport if you’re not a British citizen.

One of the most photographed beaches is Trunk Bay.  It’s plush white sandy beach and pristine clear blue waters are a treat. It’s part of the National Forest which has a large presence on the Island.  There are a couple stops along the way to get some great shots from above Trunk Bay. There’s a large rock formation and a snorkel trail that is very popular. There is a lot of tropical fish and coral to view.

Enjoy the view through my lens and perspective on the OtherSideof45. Let me know if I can answer any questions you may have about traveling to St. Thomas.
