A few stops in Spain – Madrid – The sites

Here’s part II of “A few stops in Spain”…2018. I first touched on the food and now time for the sites. We stayed at a great Marriott property, Hotel Círculo Gran Vía, which was pretty central and within walking distance to several of the squares. The service and the food at the hotel were great.

If you like tapas, wine and cocktails there was a nice rooftop bar on the next block called Atico 11.  The décor of Atico 11 consists of greenery and fresh fruit trees, in addition to ambiance of the open sky.  The bar tender is really good and will be creative with the drinks if requested.  If you are looking for a good place to chill out, relax, and have some drinks in a good atmosphere with great vibes, this is a great spot.

One of the most famous squares, Plaza Mayor, was about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.  Botin, a restaurant mentioned in “A few stops in Spain – Madrid – The food”, is around the corner on the back side of the square.  There are also some good tapas restaurants to relax and enjoy the entertainers of the square.

During our Madrid tapas and wine tasting tour, we walked by several other squares.  Here are some shots of places along the way from the tour.

Here are some more pictures captured on our daily outings.
